Overview

The [MDT-RA8875] represents the next evolution in the MicroDexed family, combining the approachable, DIY-friendly design of the original MDT with a larger Display and improved storage capabilities similar to that of MDTX. This PCB is designed for makers who want the flexibility of a completely through-hole assembly.

Key Distinction: Unlike the MDTX which comes with pre-assembled SMD components and is intended for PCBWay assembly services, this version is built for true DIY enthusiasts who enjoy the soldering process and want full control over their build.

What Makes This PCB Special

Dual SD Card Support

The additional SD card slot allows for file management, copying, moving files, and flat directory navigation between cards (feature actively in development but already functional). It however does not replace the internal main SD card.

Perfect for moving / copying files from and to the devices internal SD card. Single files and folders with subdirectories can be copied.

Pure DIY Design

• No SMD Components - All parts are through-hole, making assembly accessible with basic soldering equipment
• Same approachable build experience as the original MDT
• Clear, well-spaced component layout for easy soldering
• Familiar MDT DNA
• Works with the same Teensy 4.1 and PCM5102 Audio Board - you can take over many components from your previous build
• Very fast Capacitive touch display (by far the fastest responding touch of all versions, yet)
